Carlisle TyrFil Extends its Partnership with American Forests to Help Replant the Natural Landscape in California and Michigan
CARLISLE, PA—April 22, 2024—Carlisle TyrFil (www.CarlisleTyrFil.com), the global leader in polyurethane flatproofing technology, today announced its latest reforestation initiative to help protect and revitalize North America’s endangered natural forest regions. This year, Carlisle TyrFil will continue its long-standing partnership with American Forests, currently the world’s oldest conservancy, to plant young seedlings in fire-damaged forest territory in California’s El Dorado National Forest, specifically helping to regrow Douglas-fir, Sugar pine and incense cedar trees, as well as in north central Michigan.
This latest project is an extension of previous replanting efforts undertaken by Carlisle TyrFil and American Forests to collectively help reverse damage from the devastating 2014 arson fire—dubbed the “King Fire”—which ignited more than 97,000 acres in El Dorado County. The King Fire notoriously destroyed thousands of trees and left widespread burned landscape that directly impacted carbon storage, water cycling and wildlife habitat. The 2024 replanting campaign effort will help to mitigate these conditions with renewed tree growth. Upcoming efforts will also include the replanting of 15,000 trees in another vital region—the Kirtland Warbler Habitat—in north central Michigan, with new seedings of the Jackpine species.
“Carlisle’s long-standing partnership with the incredible American Forests conservation organization is part of our One Tote, One Tree program that donates one tree for every one tote of our TyrFil™ flatproofing product purchased,” said Jill Deamer, Strategic Marketing Leader for Carlisle TyrFil. “This project not only provides us with the opportunity to ‘give back’ to our environment with a sustainable initiative that protects, plants, and preserves our nation’s natural habitat, but it also offers Carlisle the chance to team up with our own valued customers to collectively make a positive difference in our shared eco-system.”
Since the inception of its partnership with American Forests in 2008, Carlisle TyrFil has generously helped plant over 272,000 trees in both the U.S. and Canada to support essential endeavors to reforest, restore and protect Mother Nature’s natural resources and beauty. The TyrFil flatproofing brand is the leading provider of environmentally friendly alternatives to keep industrial Off-the-Road (OTR) tires operational and free from costly, dangerous tire flats on the job.
