Carlisle TyrFil Gives Back to the Local Community It Has Served for Nearly 40 Years
Brand Proudly Supports the Berea, OH Chapter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Carlisle TyrFil, a brand of Carlisle Construction Materials (NYSE: CSL), showed its appreciation for the local Cleveland and Berea, Ohio communities it has served for the past four decades by lending a hand—and some convenient transportation—to the local chapter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. As part of a team building activity, the brand donated 10 bicycles and a $150 Amazon gift card to young people at the organization as a show of support, and a nod to Carlisle TyrFil’s heritage of helping to facilitate and streamline transportation needs. As the industry’s leading producer of polyurethane TyrFil flatproofing technology, commonly referred to as foam fill, the brand has been a well-known presence in the market, where it’s XXX square foot factory has resided since the 1970s.
“TyrFil manufacturing has been a part of the Cleveland community for decades, and we are so grateful to the people of Berea in particular,” said Sean Freed, Operations Manager, Berea & Dortmund/Senior Buyer for Carlisle TyrFil. “There was no better way to show our appreciation to this community of residents who have supported us over the years than to give back to the next generation. The Boys & Girls Clubs of America is an exceptional organization that we’re proud to stand behind.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America is one of the oldest, most revered community-based organizations to support children in the U.S. It has enabled in-need, at-risk young people across our country to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Today, 4,300 clubs serve nearly four million young people through club membership and community outreach. The clubs, which are located in cities, towns and public housing areas across the nation, provide a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours.
Carlisle TyrFil is the leading manufacturer of TyrFil flatproofing, which is pumped into pneumatic tires utilized for heavy commercial, industrial and Off-the-Road (OTR) vehicles and equipment to ensure they remain flat free on the job. The TyrFil plant, located in Berea, has been a central production hub for the brand for many years and is the primary location that has facilitated TyrFil’s global business growth. TyrFil is now widely utilized in the construction, mining, waste management, military and agricultural fields to keep workers and drivers safe. The brand has been synonymous with eliminating flats and reducing downtime in the industries it serves, and an example of the way that the manufacturing sector can support American businesses by providing responsible solutions to help create a more efficient, less hazardous work environment for all concerned. (The use of TyrFil flatproofing enables large vehicles to easily glide over dangerous work site debris like sharp rocks, nails, glass and rebar that might otherwise put work crews and equipment at serious risk.)
“It was particularly enriching for our TyrFil employees to experience first-hand what a team building exercise of this kind meant to these great kids,” added Freed. “All participants noted that it was the most fun and unique group activity they had participated in and, in turn, were all moved by the incredible, positive role that the Boys & Girls Clubs of America—and this chapter in particular—plays in the lives of these special young people.”
